"WORDS FORM THE THREAD ON WHICH WE STRING OUR EXPERIENCES" Aldous Huxley, The Olive Tree
The Biography, Musical and Otherwise
Guess who entertained at Lexington High's 50th Reunion in Waltham in Sept. of 2012? (introduced by old basketball and forever buddy, talking head and author Steve Fox!)
And the great songs just keep on coming, from PHS to ...Northwestern!
I live on the ocean in Portland, Maine, with my wife Karen, our daughter Holly and son Dana, all of whom are very actively adding to the family musical memories collection. Karen has sung with Musica de Filia's Women's Choir for many years. In 2013 Holly sang with her Musica de Filia Chamber Choir in New York's Carnegie Hall. She then won a regional NATS classical singing competition, and she performs regularly with several local theaters. Both Holly and Dana have sung leading roles in school musicals and both have performed the national anthem at Portland sports events. Dana was also a featured soloist in the Brunswick Chamber Oratorio's spring 2012 production of Vivaldi's Gloria (see above video). Holly took First Prize in 2013 and 2014 NATS regional song competitions, and she honored her proud Dad with "Thank You for the Music" at Roger's concert with the Swedish Accents on June 23, 2013 in Portland (see above video). The beat goes on...and Holly's at Northwestern's School of Communication and Musical Theater, in the Class of 2020! She's the newest member of THUNK, Northwestern's oldest a capella group, which completed a 10-day performing and teaching tour in Cape Town, South Africa in January 2017. Check out THUNK's website!
